Gary Donovitz MD

Gary Donovitz, MD, is an obstetrician, gynecologist, and hormone specialist at the Institute for Hormonal Balance in Arlington and Prosper, Texas. He has decades of medical experience and is the founding physician of the practice.

Dr. Donovitz founded his private practice in 1985. He provides top-quality care to men and women from all walks of life. He is also the founder, chairman, and medical director of BioTE® Medical, the largest provider of natural hormone pellet therapy in the United States.

He trains physicians and other healthcare providers nationwide on how to correctly use bioidentical hormone pellet therapy.

Dr. Donovitz has been the leader in innovative bioidentical hormone replacement therapy for more than 20 years, changing the course of health care using individualized, comprehensive hormone optimization methods. 

Having performed more than 50,000 pellet insertions, he lectures internationally about subcutaneous hormone pellet therapy and has trained nearly 4,000 practitioners in pellet insertion. Dr. Donovitz is also a pioneer in robotic surgery. He has trained physicians nationwide on how to utilize procedures using this cutting-edge technology.

He graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Joe R and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine in San Antonio. Dr. Donovitz completed his residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and is affiliated with USMD Hospital at Arlington in Texas.

He received the Isadore Dyer award for best teaching resident while studying at Tulane University in New Orleans. He’s a fellow in the Royal Society of Medicine, a fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the medical director of the Institute for Hormonal Balance.
